Ant McPartlin Brands Declan Donnelly a 'Psychopath' Over Flight Behaviour
Popular television presenter Ant McPartlin has shockingly branded his long-time co-host Declan Donnelly a 'psychopath' following what he described as 'disgusting behaviour' during a shared flight. The incident occurred as the iconic duo travelled to South Africa to film the upcoming all-star series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.
Flight Furore Revealed on Podcast
During an episode of their Hanging Out with Ant and Dec podcast, Ant revealed the details of the flight that left him utterly bewildered. The pair were returning from South Africa after filming for the highly anticipated spin-off series, which features returning campmates facing trials in the wilderness.
Dec's unusual in-flight habits became the centre of attention when Ant disclosed that his co-star fell asleep immediately after boarding and didn't watch any of the available entertainment. When questioned about this, Dec simply stated: "Didn't watch a thing. Got on, finished me sudoku and went to sleep."
First-Class Frustration
Ant expressed his astonishment at Dec's behaviour, particularly given they were travelling in first class at ITV's expense. He elaborated on the luxurious amenities they enjoyed: "We get on the flight, the seats are comfy, they turn into beds, you've little TV screen, you get a choice of movies, they bring the food when you want, nobody can get you on your mobile phone..."
The situation escalated when Dec confessed he "didn't eat anything" during the flight either, prompting Ant to exclaim: "You're a psychopath." Dec further revealed he only watched the in-flight map to track their progress and drank nothing but "a free bottle of water."
'Disgusting Behaviour' Criticism
A stunned Ant responded to these revelations with disbelief: "A free bottle of water? It's all free, it's all free, fill your boots. And you drink, it's not like me where I don't drink." He continued his critique when Dec admitted that upon waking, he merely "had a drink of water" without consuming any breakfast.
Ant declared this behaviour "disgusting" and joked that Dec "might as well have flown in economy." He even threatened to swap Dec's first-class ticket with another traveller on their next journey so someone else could properly appreciate the complimentary drinks and services.
Background of the Dynamic Duo
Ant and Dec have been working together since meeting on the children's television series Byker Grove in 1990. They achieved musical success as PJ and Duncan with their 1994 hit Let's Get Ready to Rhumble, which later topped the charts in 2013 after a performance on Saturday Night Takeaway.
The pair have presented numerous popular programmes including:
- SMTV:Live
- Britain's Got Talent
- Pop Idol
Since its launch in 2002, they have also hosted the main I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! series, with the new South African spin-off scheduled to air later this year featuring previous contestants like Carol Vorderman, Joe Swash, and winner Myleene Klass.
