Amanda Bynes showcased her noticeably slimmer figure this week as she emerged in Los Angeles wearing a relaxed California-style outfit. The 39-year-old actress, who is currently transitioning into a music career, had previously disclosed in December that she successfully lost 28 pounds with the help of the medication Ozempic.
Visible Transformation in Los Angeles
The former child star was spotted on Monday wearing a white button-up crop top that revealed her reduced midriff as she walked across a parking lot. Her casual ensemble included a pair of printed cotton fleece sweats from Kim Kardashian's SKIMS clothing line, originally launched as a shapewear brand, priced at approximately $98.
Bynes completed her look with platinum blonde hair pulled tightly into a bun, accessorising with a black leather handbag and oversized sunglasses. Although she had debuted striking purple eyebrows on Instagram last month, she had returned to her natural black brows by this week's sighting.
Cosmetic Changes and Body Modifications
The actress has been gradually altering her appearance over recent years through various cosmetic procedures. Last month, she emerged from Atomic Tattoo & Body Piercing in Hollywood with fresh ink reading 'Trap Star' on her left hand. This follows previous modifications including lip fillers installed last August and several hand tattoos.
In May of last year, Bynes acquired a Roman numeral X tattoo on her finger to commemorate a ten-year friendship anniversary with her close friend Dylan, who received matching ink. She has also undergone eyelid surgery, specifically a blepharoplasty procedure, which she described as "one of the best things I could have ever done for my self-confidence."
Weight Loss Journey with Ozempic
Bynes first announced her decision to use Ozempic in June last year, joining the trend of weight loss injectables that has swept through the entertainment industry. At the time, she expressed excitement about the prospect, stating she hoped to reach approximately 130 pounds to "look better in paparazzi pictures."
By November, she reported losing 20 pounds, telling fans via Instagram Stories: "I've lost 20 pounds so far. I'm so excited about that, to be honest. Also, I want to lose about 50 more pounds." She provided specific details about her progress, noting she had reached 163 pounds after starting at 180 pounds.
Social Media Revelations and Personal Goals
In December, Bynes proudly shared her achievement with social media followers, posting: "I used to weigh 180lbs but had 'lost 28lbs on ozempic!'" alongside an image of herself. She added: "I'm down to 152lbs. I know I still look big but this photo is really inspiring to me!"
The actress explained that depression had contributed to a 20-pound weight gain in 2024, revealing her ultimate goal was to return to her teenage weight of 110 pounds. She has been open about her motivation, sharing that she wants "to feel skinny and cute" and that the Ozempic treatment is "working" for her.
Bynes, who is currently in a relationship with boyfriend Zachary, continues to document her transformation journey publicly as she pivots from acting to pursuing music professionally. Her candid discussions about weight loss medication and cosmetic procedures reflect broader trends within celebrity culture regarding body image and aesthetic enhancements.
