The 39-year-old footballer-turned-pundit shared the emotional story of her grandmother's passing during a poignant appearance on the White Wine Question Time podcast with Kate Thornton.

Scott disclosed that her beloved grandmother passed away just hours before she was due to present coverage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for the BBC. "My nana passed away the morning I was flying out to the World Cup," the former Arsenal player revealed, her voice filled with emotion.
Despite her overwhelming grief, the professional presenter made the difficult decision to continue with her work commitments, demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of personal tragedy.

"I was due to fly out that day to present the World Cup," Scott explained. "I remember getting the phone call and just... I still went." Her voice broke as she added: "I remember sitting there, and I was just reading the autocue, and I could see the words, but I wasn't taking them in."
