Amanda Holden has revealed she knew her friend Alan Carr had performed well on The Celebrity Traitors before he told her, because he stopped messaging her for two weeks. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 54, stars alongside Carr in the property renovation show Amanda And Alan’s Greek Job and said the pair usually speak daily.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Holden said: 'I knew he must have done well because I didn’t speak to him for two weeks, normally we speak every day.' She noted that Carr's recent popularity has surprised her, adding: 'He’s been around for so long, but everyone’s suddenly like, “Oh, I love Alan Carr”, and I think, “How is he a new thing to you? He’s always been this brilliant.”'
Carr, 49, won the first celebrity series of the BBC reality gameshow late last year, taking home £87,500 for cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK after fooling fellow contestants Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga in the final. Holden hinted she would want to be a traitor if she appeared on the show, but ruled out a future appearance due to scheduling conflicts with Britain's Got Talent.
Holden said: 'I do love the cloak, I think I’d look like the woman from the Scottish Widows advert if I could customise it with a red lip. They’d make me a faithful though, and that’s boring. You don’t remember the faithfuls. But I couldn’t do it anyway because it clashes with Britain’s Got Talent.'
