Alan Carr Embarks on Castle Quest in 'Turret Era'

Comedian Alan Carr has revealed he is in his 'turret era' as he searches for a Scottish castle to call home. Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, the 50-year-old said he wants a turret of his own and envisions a community space with animals and cream teas for guests.

Carr, who recently won The Celebrity Traitors, admitted he feels lonely in his current residence. 'I'm buying a castle. I'm having a midlife crisis,' he told ITV. 'You know when people have a midlife crisis that they get a ponytail or a Lamborghini… I want a castle.'

The star is also fronting a new Disney+ series titled Castle Man, which follows his quest to find, buy and run a historic castle. He described his plans: 'I want animals there, I want a community thing. I'm lonely where I am. It'll be nice, having people come there and have a cream tea. I want to reintroduce wolves. I want it to be like a big old zoo.'

Carr, who loves Scotland, also discussed the aftermath of The Celebrity Traitors, noting that a fan in the US recently accused him of being a murderer. 'People think I'm a murderer walking around looking for my next victim,' he said.

The episode also featured Neve Campbell, Rob Beckett and his wife Lou, and Archie Madekwe, who revealed he learned to drive from the secret Top Gear Stig for his role in Gran Turismo. The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturdays on ITV1 and ITVX.
