Victoria Beckham jokes about David's 'big cucumber' on live TV

Victoria Beckham made light of husband David's 'big cucumber' during an appearance on US morning show Today, after taking a tequila shot live on air. The fashion designer joined hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, where she enjoyed a martini before the conversation turned to David's love of 'competitive gardening.'

Playful banter on set

When an image of David's cucumber appeared on screen, Victoria said: 'It looks like an instrument!' She then told Jenna: 'I've heard your cucumbers are very impressive, actually,' to which the host replied: 'I think his cucumber is bigger than my cucumber.'

Posh put her hands up and quipped: 'It's a bit early to talk about this, no? We have tequila, now we're talking about... I mean, what is this?' Sheinelle responded: 'I love that you guys are in a space now where you can do those things. If [David] wants to have a garden, have the best garden.'

Cherished moments in the vegetable patch

Victoria said: 'Do you know what? We work so much, that we value that time together, in the vegetable patch. We might have a glass of wine.' She added: 'And it's so lovely that we can do that together and we really cherish and protect those moments. It's just a lovely thing to do and by the way, his vegetables are impressive!'

The former Spice Girl, 52, has been married to football legend David, 51, since 1999 and has Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 24, Cruz, 21, and 15-year-old Harper with him. David, who boasts more than 88 million Instagram followers, has shown off his oversized vegetables at the couple's Cotswolds home in recent months.

Gardening roots

David's garden now boasts everything from carrots and radishes to kale and onions, a far cry from his childhood in Chingford. Despite his parents, Ted and Sandra, not being particularly green-fingered, Sir David previously said his love of gardening was sparked by his maternal grandfather Joe.

He told the Daily Mail: 'Grandad Joe would come to our house every Sunday to tend to the roses and, when he left, it would all look perfect. Then he'd visit the Sunday after, only to find that all the heads had been knocked off the roses because I'd been kicking a football around. As much as he loved me, I think that drove him mad! Although I didn't really plant anything with him, I showed an interest and he talked me through everything he was doing, so I think that's where my love of gardening came from, even if I didn't realise it at the time.'

David and Victoria bought their Cotswolds home in December 2016 for approximately £6.15 million. The converted farmhouse is located in the village of Great Tew, Oxfordshire.
