The Lathums will play five intimate shows across Manchester in April 2027, celebrating five years since their debut album topped the charts.
The Wigan band—Alex Moore, Scott Concepcion, Ryan Durrans, and Matty Murphy—formed during college in Pemberton and released their first single, Artificial Screens, in 2018. Their debut album, How Beautiful Life Can Be, went straight to number one in September 2021. Their 2023 follow-up, From Nothing to a Little Bit More, also reached number one, while their third album, Matter Does Not Define, hit number three in February last year.
Five iconic venues
The residency kicks off at Night & Day on April 19, followed by Deaf Institute on April 20, Gorilla on April 21, O2 Ritz on April 23, and New Century on April 24. Tickets go on sale this week via Gigs and Tours and Ticketmaster.
The shows mark special occasions for the band, who haven't played Night & Day or Gorilla since their debut album's release. They will also play Deaf Institute, O2 Ritz, and New Century for the first time, following their slot supporting the Courteeners on the 'God Bless The Band' tour in November.
Return to grassroots venues
These five shows are the band's first Manchester gigs since two sold-out nights at the O2 Apollo in April last year, a performance praised at the time for showing 'exactly why their rise from sticky-floored pubs to headline festival slots has always felt like a sure thing'.
“We’re really excited to be returning to some of the grassroots venues we played on our very first tours,” the band said. “There’s something special about those intimate rooms and the energy they bring, so coming back to them five years on feels pretty fitting.”
Tickets for all five dates go on sale via Gigs and Tours and Ticketmaster on Friday (October 9) at 9am.
