Celebrity Traitors: Three Stars Shared Same TV Show

Celebrity Traitors series two has revealed surprising connections among its cast, with three celebrities having previously starred in the same television show.

The BBC show, which returned last week, features 21 famous faces at a Scottish Highlands castle. In the opening episodes, Claudia Winkleman selected Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant as the two Traitors. Richard accidentally revealed his role shortly after the selection, and the pair later recruited James Acaster as a third Traitor, leading to journalist Amol Rajan becoming the first murdered contestant.

Game of Thrones Connections

Richard E. Grant, Bella Ramsey and Sebastian Croft all appeared in the fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Richard played theatre troupe member Izembaro in season six, while Bella portrayed Lyanna Mormont until season eight. Sebastian played a young Ned Stark in the same season.

Bella and Sebastian met during filming and have discussed their connection on screen, although Richard's role has not been mentioned.

Long-Standing Friendship

Richard also has a close bond with fellow contestant Jerry Hall, who has defended him at the Round Table. She said: "I just don't believe Richard's a Traitor. I've known him 30 years and he's my neighbour."

The pair co-starred in the 2004 children's film Tooth. Jerry recalled: "It was ridiculous. We had such a laugh, and I went on holiday with him earlier this year, just after Christmas to Africa with some friends. And we danced all night. We had so much fun! Little did we know back then that we'd both be here [on Celebrity Traitors]."

Grant also attended Hall's wedding to Rupert Murdoch in 2016.

Further Surprising Links

Romesh Ranganathan, known for his friendship with Rob Beckett, has an unexpected tie to Julie Hesmondhalgh. Romesh hosts The Weakest Link, while Julie provides the voice-over narration for the show.

Hesmondhalgh and actor Michael Sheen both fronted Papyrus's online child safety campaign in 2020.

Glasgow actress Sharon Rooney, the only Scot in this year's cast, has no known mutual connections with other contestants.
