Take That fans have expressed fury over what they describe as "shambolic" queues outside Manchester's Etihad Stadium, with some concertgoers claiming they missed support acts despite arriving hours before the show.
Fans vent frustrations on social media
Angry fans took to social media on Friday evening (June 19) to complain about delays entering the stadium ahead of the band's first of three homecoming shows on its Circus Live tour. Photos shared online appeared to show huge queues outside the venue close to 8pm, three hours after doors opened, with fans claiming they were still waiting to enter.
Responding to a Manchester Evening News social media post showing inside the venue, one fan shared a photo from outside the Etihad, writing: "Meanwhile outside at nearly 8pm." Replying to the image, another compared the scenes to those witnessed at Take That's recent Sunderland show, commenting: "Exact same as Sunderland shambles by the look of it."
Missed performances and high costs
Others said they missed support performances as a result of the delays. One person wrote: "The queue was an absolute joke! Missed The Script." Another added: "Considering 'doors open at 5pm' and you can't even get in before 7pm, it's an absolute shambles. So disorganised for £152!!"
The complaints come after similar issues were reported at the band's gig in Sunderland earlier this month, according to Chronicle Live. Fans there described waiting for more than an hour to enter the venue, with some claiming they missed support acts Belinda Carlisle and The Script due to long queues. Others said they gave up and went home altogether after becoming frustrated by delays.
Despite queues, show praised
Despite the complaints, many fans praised Take That's performance itself at Sunderland, with concertgoers describing the band's latest tour as one of their best yet.
