Strictly Come Dancing fans have asked to see more of Anton du Beke's singing after he performed during the professional dance on Sunday night's results show.
The demand came as the second contestant was eliminated from the BBC One dance competition. Melanie, known for playing Gwen in Gavin & Stacey, and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec became the latest couple to leave the show.
Anton's performance sparks fan reaction
Shortly after the professional dance, fans took to social media to call for more of Anton du Beke's singing. This week, Anton sang a part of Arctic Monkeys' I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, having previously sung during theatrical group openings such as during Musicals Week.
Strictly fan @mamabearmusical wrote: "Anton singing!!!! Can we have this more often I miss him dancing and singing during musicals week"
@ffion_sheppard_ wrote: "ANTON SINGING ARCTIC MONKEYS??? MY LIFE IS COMPLETEEE", and @scddevereaux added: "Lauren x Anton, Carlos x Anton, Anton SINGING… I’m kinda obsessed with this number".
@HareBrainedIdea said: "#Strictly Did I just witness Anton du Beke singing ‘I bet you look good on the dance floor?’", and @spaceybuffy added: "ANTON SINGING WE ARE SO BACK".
Elimination confirmed
Anton du Beke recently appeared on ITV's Masked Singer and is set to appear in a brand new festive show this winter.
Melanie performed a Charleston this week with partner Aljaz after finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard last week. Although Craig Revel Horwood said he loved the dance style, he told Melanie it "wasn’t your thing", and they were awarded a total of 17 points.
During Sunday's results show, it was confirmed they had landed in the dreaded dance-off against former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and his partner Alexis Warr, after they landed at the bottom of the week three leaderboard, with a score of 15 out of a possible 40 for their quickstep.
After the judges' scores were combined with the public vote, both couples faced the red light of doom and had to perform their routines again, with only one of them guaranteed to keep their place in the competition.
Shaun and Alexis performed their Quickstep to I’m a Believer by The Monkees, before Melanie and Aljaz performed their Charleston to Ooh Ahh... Just A Little Bit by Gina G.
After both couples had danced, the judges delivered their verdicts. While Craig chose to save Shaun and Alexis, Motsi Mabuse chose to save Melanie and Aljaz, before head judge Shirley Ballas chose to save Shaun and Alexis. Anton – who this week was the judge with the deciding vote – saved Shaun and Alexis, meaning Melanie and Aljaz had to leave the competition.
