Shaun Wright-Phillips is the overwhelming favourite to become the second celebrity sent off Strictly Come Dancing, based on the latest odds from Ladbrokes. The former England footballer leads the market at 7/4 to be the next contestant booted out of this year's competition, followed by Melanie Walters at 5/2.
Bookies' favourites for elimination
Sarah Storey sits third in the betting at 3/1, while Jaime Winstone is offered at 6/1, with all remaining contestants priced at 20/1 or longer. Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "The market suggests four celebrities are firmly in the firing line this weekend, but it's Shaun Wright-Phillips who punters believe is most likely to become the first casualty of the series."
Chris Appleton's exit confirmed
Chris Appleton and his professional partner, Amy Dowden, were the first couple to be voted off the 2026 series of Strictly after losing the week two dance-off. The hairstylist was sent packing as the judges chose to save actress Jaime Winstone.
Unfortunately for Chris Appleton, Amy Dowden, Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, they found themselves in the dreaded dance-off and both couples had to perform their routines once more - a Cha Cha to I'll Be Ready from Baywatch and a Cha Cha to Oh, Pretty Woman from Pretty Woman. Following both performances, the judges gave their decisions and opted to save Jaime and Carlos, resulting in Chris Appleton's elimination.
Tonight's show
The remaining 14 couples will return to the dance floor this evening when the BBC programme continues tonight. Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One at 6.15pm.
