EastEnders star Shane Richie and his wife Christie Goddard have reportedly divorced days after his drink-drive arrest. The Alfie Moon actor, 62, and Goddard, 47, are understood to have dissolved their 19-year marriage last month, according to The Sun.
Arrest and alleged incident
He was facing court on a drink-driving charge after being arrested following an alleged foul-mouthed rant over vaping at a petrol station. Video obtained by The Sun showed Richie apparently arguing with workers who challenged him about an e-cigarette after he arrived at the Tesco garage in Essex. Richie, whose real name is Shane Roche, was said to have got into an argument after being caught vaping at the forecourt in Harlow.
Marriage breakdown
According to The Sun, actress Goddard was approached at their £2million home and confirmed their 19-year marriage was over. It quoted an unnamed source as saying: “Christie was at the end of her tether with Shane and had had enough. The divorce was her decision and she pursued it after talking it through with relatives.”
The source added: “She still has a lot of love for him but decided they could not go on as husband and wife. They have three children together so that is her main concern.”
