Cristiano Ronaldo and his new wife Georgina Rodriguez chose not to have a traditional honeymoon. In the days after their wedding, they watched a football match during the Saudi Pro League with their five children.
Match Attendance in Riyadh
Ronaldo, 41, was seen for the first time with his new wife and their five children at the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Fateh at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh. Dressed casually in a black round-necked t-shirt, the former Premier League player watched the game intensely from the VIP suite of the stadium.
Georgina was also pictured at the stadium while watching the game. Wearing a gold coloured bomber jacket teamed with a black baseball cap, in one picture she lovingly carried her young daughter in her arms while the other children watched on as the game unfolded.
Intimate Wedding Ceremony
Cristiano and Georgina tied the knot at the couple's £30million mansion near the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon. Unlike many other celebrity weddings, the low-key couple opted for a much smaller and intimate affair after deciding to have only four witnesses at the ceremony, along with their brood.
The legendary player's mum Dolores Aveiro, his brother and two sisters were reportedly not in attendance at the wedding last week Tuesday. However, Georgina's sister Ivana, Cristiano's friend Miguel Paixao, and a Spanish couple called Jose Rodriguez Sangil and his wife Monica Goncalez Martinez were called as witnesses.
Legal and Personal Details
The nuptials came exactly one year after their engagement was announced on social media. Before the wedding, it was speculated if a pre-nuptial agreement would be set in place. According to reports, the day before their intimate ceremony, they signed the legally binding document. The couple had been together for ten years before marrying.
According to the Portuguese publication Jornal de Noticias, who published a copy of the marriage certificate, the wedding took place at his sprawling mansion that he had built from scratch in the sought-after area of Quinta da Marina. Despite not attending the wedding, it has been reported that Cristiano's mum had previously given him her blessing as she posted a heart emoji on her son's Instagram post announcing the wedding.
The couple chose to post a picture of the wedding bands, with Cristiano's hands placed gently on top of her well-manicured hand. A spokesperson for the couple reportedly told Us Weekly: "Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife. The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children."
