James Mackenzie, the host of the iconic noughties BBC series Raven, appears to have barely aged as the show approaches its 24th anniversary. The Scottish actor, who played the titular character, continues to engage fans with regular social media posts, including his popular 'Warrior Wisdom' videos, where he offers advice in character as Raven.
Raven's Legacy and Fan Demand
The children's game show first aired on CBBC in December 2002. It followed six children, known as warriors, competing over five days through a series of tasks and feats. At various stages, the least successful warrior was eliminated until two remained to compete in the final week for the title of Ultimate Warrior.
In the second series, Raven's arch-enemy Nevar (Raven backwards) was introduced, clad in a black cloak and gold mask, aiming to defeat Raven and conquer the land. The original run spanned 10 seasons until 2010.

Mackenzie, born in Dundee, continues to work in children's television, appearing in Molly and Mack and various CBeebies productions, including pantomimes like Beauty and the Beast and the musical The Great Ice Cream Hunt, released in cinemas last year. He also makes charity appearances at conventions and regularly posts videos, signing off with the catchphrase: "Let the challenge begin."

In a podcast appearance last year, Mackenzie discussed the show's lasting appeal: "It's been a massive part of my life and it's still a massive part of my life now. Those youngsters that grew up watching it are now in their 20s and 30s, having children of their own who are now watching me in CBeebies shows like Molly and Mack and kind of going, 'Oh my God, mummy and daddy used to watch him when they were young'." He added: "Raven kind of garnered this kind of cult status. And so it just keeps going. It was a very special job."
