Property industry veteran Michael Day is releasing his second charity Christmas single, following last year’s fundraising effort. The track, titled It’s Not the Same for Everyone, will be available from 14 November alongside an accompanying music video.
A more serious festive message
Day, of Integra Property Services, said the new release takes a more serious approach than his 2025 song, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, which raised several thousand pounds for Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust. The latest track highlights the contrast between traditional Christmas celebrations and the difficulties faced by people experiencing hardship.
As before, proceeds from downloads, after platform fees, will be split between the two charities. The single will be available through Bandcamp for a minimum contribution of £3.
Recognition and fundraising record
Day’s fundraising efforts have already earned recognition within the property industry. Earlier this year, he received the Creative Fundraising Champion Award at the Agents Giving Awards 2026 and was shortlisted in two other categories.
Day said: “Whilst last year’s song may not have troubled Kylie for the coveted UK Christmas number one slot, it was very well received and raised a decent sum of money and profile for the charities.
“I am delighted that a number of industry conferences have already agreed to show the video in the run up to Christmas and I have organised an extensive press and PR campaign to support the song’s fundraising.”
Long-term charity work
Day, who has lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 35 years, has raised over £10,000 for Diabetes UK during the past four years. His fundraising activities include music releases, two million-step challenges and four London Bridges walks.
He is also a director and trustee of The Propertymark Trust and chairs its Education Group. Alongside his property industry work, Day performs and releases music under the name Michael S Day. His album, Prodigal Son, is available digitally and on CD.
The single will be available from 14 November at michaelsday.bandcamp.com, with the accompanying video released on his YouTube channel. Day also plans to perform the new Christmas song at his scheduled live appearances throughout December.
