Juliette Taylor, 24, from Newcastle, has made history by becoming the first international winner of a US beauty pageant. She was crowned the first non-American winner of International United Miss in the scholarship pageant's 10-year history, in Orlando, USA, on July 18.
Pageant celebrates leadership and community service
The pageant aims to celebrate leadership, community service, confidence and advocacy, recognising young women for the impact they make both on and off the stage. To earn the title, Juliette completed 470 hours of community service and spoke to judges about her advocacy platform Wear the Change, which encourages young women to embrace sustainable fashion.
She says Wear the Change proves confidence and style don't have to come at the expense of the planet. She has also raised more than £15,000 for charity. Juliette, who also hosts the podcast The Lesbian Lounge and has appeared on ITV's The Floor, received the Top Model Award during the competition's professional photoshoot.
Dream come true
Juliette, who grew up in Newcastle but has recently moved to Sunderland, said: "Winning International United Miss is a dream come true, but becoming the first international winner makes it even more special. I hope my journey inspires young people to believe that with passion, hard work and a commitment to giving back, anything is possible."
As International United Miss, Juliette will spend the next year representing the organisation across the globe. Her win has set her up for six international trips across the USA and Europe, where she will attend events, mentor young women, support community initiatives and continue promoting sustainable fashion.
Pageant coach and content creator
Alongside her title, Juliette is a content creator and pageant coach at her own business 'Jewel in the Crown Coaching', where she coaches girls for national and international pageants.
