Meghan Markle's former friend Nick Ede has spoken out about her true character away from the cameras, describing her as "kind and charitable". The TV presenter and celebrity PR expert, who befriended the Duchess of Sussex during her Suits days, shared his memories in an exclusive conversation.
A friendship built in London
Nick first met Meghan while she was starring in Suits and helped her set up agency meetings to explore opportunities in the UK. Their friendship blossomed, with regular visits to Soho House and shopping trips together. They eventually lost touch before she married Prince Harry.
Reflecting on their time together, Nick revealed: "I loved our friendship - Meghan was lots of fun, kind and also charitable too. She was also very stylish and looked impeccable; we had lots of fun when we were together, and she genuinely had a real passion for lifestyle brands and products and supporting small businesses."
Emmy nomination for With Love, Meghan
Meghan recently earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, in the outstanding lifestyle series category. Nick believes she has a real chance of winning, saying: "I think there is a chance she could [win]. The first season was a ratings hit and globally made the headlines, it was very well produced so never say never."
The duchess celebrated the news on Instagram, writing: "A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers and team who worked on With Love, Meghan on Netflix."
