Lucy Fallon confirms wedding date to Ryan Ledson

Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon has confirmed that she and footballer Ryan Ledson are planning to marry in 2028. The 30-year-old, known for playing Bethany Platt, shared the update while discussing wedding preparations in a collaboration with wedding planning platform Hitched.

Lucy, a mother of two, admitted that although the wedding is still some time away, she has already started tackling the lengthy list of tasks involved in organising the celebration. In a video, she said: 'We are getting married in 2028 and we’re still very early in our wedding planning, but there are lots of things to get organised, so let’s do it!'

Wedding planning update

Sharing the video with her followers, Lucy joked about the amount of work ahead. She wrote: 'Wedding planning mode: activated. Only 700 things left to organise lol. Making my way through the list with @hitcheduk + their Wedding Passport… honeymoon fund pending.'

The wedding marks another milestone for the couple, who already share two children. Ryan, a midfielder for EFL League One side Huddersfield Town, proposed last year as Lucy celebrated her 30th birthday.

Engagement announcement

The actress announced their engagement in November by sharing pictures from the occasion on Instagram. One image showed the couple posing together as Lucy displayed her engagement ring, with tears visible in her eyes. Another snap captured her raising a glass in a restaurant with the ring clearly visible.

At the time, Lucy wrote: 'Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé!!!! I can’t wait to marry you @ryanledson8.'

Maid of Honour chosen

Preparations began earlier this year. In April, Lucy revealed she had asked her best friend to become her Maid of Honour, documenting the emotional moment in a social media video. The montage featured clips of the friends when they were younger before showing Lucy presenting her friend with a special box containing treats and the question.

The video was accompanied by a remix of ABBA’s Slipping Through My Fingers. In the caption, Lucy wrote: 'We have been with each other through every chapter and I can’t wait for you to be my maid of honour @livgregs.'

Lucy first joined Coronation Street as Bethany Platt in 2015, remaining in the role for five years before departing in 2020. She returned to the ITV soap at the end of 2023. With the wedding year confirmed and her Maid of Honour chosen, some of the biggest decisions are in place, though hundreds of jobs remain before she and Ryan say 'I do' in 2028.
