Loose Women viewers threaten Ofcom over Sunetra Sarker's jumper

Loose Women viewers were left unimpressed by panellist Sunetra Sarker's outfit choice during Friday's ITV show, with some threatening to complain to Ofcom.

During the instalment, Kaye Adams, Jane Moore, Judi Love and Sunetra Sarker discussed the latest headlines, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent outing in Nottingham. However, attention was drawn to the 53-year-old's brown jumper, which featured purple text reading 'easy tiger'.

Viewers react to 'inappropriate' jumper

Many called the outfit inappropriate following the death of a 24-year-old man killed by a tiger on Saturday, October 10, after entering its enclosure at a wildlife park in Yorkshire.

Social media users were quick to comment. One wrote: "@loosewomen Wearing a top with easy tiger on.. chap died last week due to a tiger." Another said: "Wrong choice of jumper for Sunetra today due to the current news story... #loosewomen."

A third added: "Is it appropriate for a lady on your panel to be wearing an 'easy tiger' jumper? What an oversight." One person fumed: "#Loosewomen Ofcom complaints on the way oooh sunitra 3...2.1."

Context of the tiger attack

Another viewer commented: "Seriously, that jumper!!! Sorry, not a good look! Not good timing!" while someone else added: "Considering what happened just 6 days ago in Yorkshire, do you think it's appropriate that one of your panellists is wearing a jumper with 'easy tiger' plastered over it?"

ITV has been contacted for comment. The family of William Chapman, who was killed by the tiger, described him in a statement as 'bright, warm and engaging'. They pleaded for 'deeply offensive media content' to stop circulating online after videos of their son in the enclosure before his death were shared.

An inquest into Mr Chapman's death opened at Doncaster Coroners' Court on Thursday, and Yorkshire Wildlife Park reopened on Friday. The park issued a statement saying: "Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with the families, friends and loved ones of William Chapman whp sadly lost his life. The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff team and animals rewmain our highest priority."

The park added that the five-year-old Siberian tiger Altai involved in the attack was safe and well and would not be euthanised as a result of the incident. Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV from 12:30pm.
