Laura Tobin, the weather presenter on ITV's Good Morning Britain since 2014, has announced a major career change: she has written a book. The 44-year-old meteorologist shared the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement with a video showing the front cover of her book, titled Come Rain Or Shine.
Book Details and Release
In her Instagram post, Tobin wrote: "Aagghhh. So excited to finally say I’ve written a book with everything you need to know about the weather. It’s one of our favourite conversations." She explained that the book covers topics such as why the sky is blue, how clouds form, and which clouds mean rain, along with fascinating facts, science, and fun stories. The book also aims to teach readers how to predict the weather themselves. Tobin added: "I’ve loved writing it and can’t wait for you to read it."
The book is set for release on October 1 and is available for pre-order. Tobin also mentioned that she will announce book store and signing events soon.
Support and Background
Her Good Morning Britain co-star Richard Arnold was among the first to offer support, commenting: "AT LAST." Fans also congratulated her, with one writing: "Ahh amazing!! I shall be grabbing a copy!! Congratulations."
Tobin began her weather forecasting career at the BBC before moving to the ITV Breakfast programme Daybreak in 2012. When Daybreak was replaced by Good Morning Britain in early 2014, she remained on the show. Recently, she was temporarily replaced by Des Coleman in early July while she traveled to Germany for the Eumetsat headquarters to attend the launch of a new satellite. Eumetsat is an intergovernmental satellite agency monitoring weather, climate, and the environment, with 30 European member states. Tobin shared a tour of the facility on Instagram, including Mission Control, remarking: "Who wouldn't want to be here?"
