Katya Jones, 37, made an emotional statement on Instagram on Saturday (October 10) ahead of performing on tonight's Strictly Come Dancing live show. The professional dancer, partnered with John Nellis in this year's contest, opened up about her feelings, and the post has since generated a significant reaction from fans.
Katya's Candid Confession
In a post accompanied by several photos, Katya wrote: "Does anyone else feel like the bond with their parents only grows stronger with age? No matter how far apart we live, and how much time passes between visits, the love only grows stronger."
She continued: "To me it feels like I’m holding on to a rope tighter and tighter as it gets further away, not wanting for it to slip away even a little bit. Time spent with my partner will always be my greatest comfort. Gosh, I love them so much."
This is not the only confession she has made recently. Previously, it was reported she almost quit the show after a difficult moment with Lewis Cope.
Fans Show Support
The post quickly sparked conversation, with many fans rushing to offer comforting words. One commented: "As I was watching Strictly with my parents last weekend while they visited me in London, I was telling them how your bond with your parents really resonates with how I feel about mine and my parents."
Another added: "This post is so meaningful." A third replied: "Enjoy and treasure every moment." A fourth wrote: "Definitely, I love spending quality time with my parents. I love that your parents go to see you and John shine on the dance floor together."
Others said "This is so true" and "Yes, absolutely. It’s a privilege I don’t take for granted. Love spending time with my parents." The emojis beneath the pictures suggested her words nearly brought people to tears, with many sending support messages ahead of tonight's show.
Strictly Journey So Far
This year Katya and John have made a strong impression in the dance contest. In the first week of the live shows, they topped the leaderboard with 31 points for their foxtrot. Tonight they will perform another dance, reported to be a Cha Cha to Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body."
