Madonna will not headline Glastonbury 2027, organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed, as speculation grows over who will top the bill at Worthy Farm next year. The festival's first batch of tickets has already sold, with general admission going on sale shortly, and the dates and increased price have been announced.
Headliners already booked
In August, Eavis revealed that all headliners have been booked, saying: "We're very excited about it - it's all coming together really well." The previous headliners in 2025 were The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with a fallow year taken this year to allow the land to recover.
Madonna had been highly tipped for an appearance, especially after her new record Confessions II re-entered the charts, featuring collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX. The 68-year-old appeared to hint at a Glastonbury slot while on The Graham Norton Show, telling the host she had "something big" planned for June 2027. However, Eavis shut down the rumours on BBC Radio 4's PM programme: "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that."
Strong contenders in the running
Harry Styles, who has yet to perform at the festival, is among the favourites. He is due to wrap up the North American leg of his Together, Together tour in May before heading to Europe in July, leaving June fairly available. In 2024, an insider told The Sun that Eavis had wanted to secure Styles for a while "but the dates have never quite worked out". He is priced at 4/6 by Gambling.com, giving him an implied probability of 60 per cent.
Sam Fender, who played the Pyramid Stage in 2022 ahead of Billie Eilish, has seen his career reach new heights since, including winning the Mercury Prize in 2025 and having his duet with Olivia Dean, "Rein Me In," become the longest-running Number 1 single in UK chart history. Fender, rumoured to be working on his fourth studio album, is priced at 6/4 odds.
Legends slot and other names
Robbie Williams is rumoured to be eyeing up the Sunday "Legends" slot, following his appearance at the FIFA World Cup Final closing ceremony. 2027 would mark 30 years since his debut album Life Thru a Lens. He is playing concert dates in Lancashire and Limerick in July 2027, scheduled just a week after the festival weekend. Williams, priced at 2/1 odds, has openly campaigned for the slot on podcasts like Robbie Williams Rewind, saying he is confident he would "slaughter" the performance.
Fontaines DC, who performed at The Park Stage in 2024 to widespread critical acclaim, are hotly tipped as headliners with odds of 5/1. They are set to release their fifth studio album Dopamine Chamber later this month, with an accompanying tour including shows at Heaton Park in Manchester and London Stadium. Their show at Slane Castle on 26 June takes place the day after Glastonbury 2027 concludes.
Oasis ruled out, Carpenter tipped
Oasis, despite announcing a 2027 tour with 42 dates, will not perform at the festival. When asked by a fan on Instagram if the band would take a headliner slot, Eavis replied: "Sorry Jimmy, not this time!"
Sabrina Carpenter, fresh off a headlining slot at Coachella, is another contender with odds of 5/1. She has yet to appear at the festival, though her hits Espresso and Please Please Please dominated the charts in 2024. Three years on, she has a string of hits under her belt.
