Emmerdale actress Katie Hill was rushed to hospital this week after suffering a gruesome injury during a house renovation project. The 23-year-old, who plays Sarah Sugden in the ITV soap, stepped on a nail and had to visit A&E for treatment.
DIY disaster leads to hospital visit
Katie, who is currently renovating her home, shared a picture on her Instagram Stories confirming she had been to her local emergency department. As a result, she had to cancel her nail appointment and took to social media to find another slot.
'This may be a long shot but are there any nail techs in Leeds that could fit me in either tomorrow or Wednesday? Had to cancel my appointment today due to stepping on a nail and having to go to A&E, house renovation going well', the star wrote alongside a picture of her nails.
Later, Katie posted another update saying: 'All sorted now :) Thanks everyone who reached out, much appreciated'.
Sarah's dramatic storyline continues
Meanwhile, Katie's on-screen character Sarah has been embroiled in a dramatic storyline. Days earlier, Sarah walked in on a conversation between her gran Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker). Sarah pushed Dr Todd, who fell, hit her head, and died.
Horrified, Sarah and Charity enlisted the help of Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) to create a cover story for the police. Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw teased the fallout, saying: 'They are locked in a secret and that's going to be long-lasting and going forward, that's going to affect their relationship.'
She added: 'Obviously, there's still the baby secret to come out at some point.'
