Emma Willis supported over Strictly update after collapse recall

Emma Willis has been supported over her latest Strictly Come Dancing update, which comes as she has also spoken about the time she collapsed while on a job, leaving her feeling 'mortified'.

The presenter has been fronting the hit BBC One dance show for a few weeks alongside Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, after the trio were chosen to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman following their exits at the end of the 2025 series.

It marks the first time three people have presented the programme, and the trio have been splitting presenting responsibilities - with Emma and Josh staying by the judges' table, like Tess used to, while Johannes has joined the couples on the balcony ahead of the score reveal, the role previously occupied by Claudia.

Matt Willis shows support

As the talk continues to centre around the trio being at the helm, Emma's husband Matt has shown support for his presenter wife. Promoting his new book on This Morning on Thursday (October 8), host Tess Daly asked the Busted star: "She's doing the most amazing job on Strictly. Is she enjoying it? Are you watching it? Do you love it?"

Matt replied: "I have never watched so much Strictly in my life! I'm so in. I've been to a live show, I'm watching every episode... She's smashing it. She's so happy. She loves it!"

Emma's own update and fan reaction

Now, Emma has shared her own update, giving a glimpse at last weekend's Movie Week special, ahead of week three of Strictly's 2026 series on Saturday (October 10). "A little Movie Week magic swept some of us off our feet @bbcstrictly," she captioned the post, which featured selfies with her co-hosts, and Josh practising his flying moment in rehearsals before doing it live on the show.

Fans were quick to show their support. @lucybu6 said: "I love the new format! You are ALL smashing it." @ingharic commented: "You guys have been absolutely amazing, loving the show." @laura_nicolexx wrote: "Loving you lot as part of the Strictly family." @lindamaryhoward replied: "You are perfect Emma well done you." @helenreynolds1969 added: "Loving this new team, you're all amazing and bring such fun to the weekend. Love the new format."

Recalling the collapse

Meanwhile, Emma has also been heard recalling how she was rushed to A&E after collapsing while filming a medical documentary. She trained as a maternity care assistant for months while filming the 2018 Channel 4 docuseries, Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, and has told how she would continue to work full shifts at the hospital after filming had ended during the first series.

Speaking to Tom Allen on his Pottering podcast, Emma recalled how she'd chosen to watch a post-birth repair in theatre when things didn't quite go to plan for the star. She recalled telling a member of staff, "Oh, I'm not sure. I don't feel okay," and added: "They just ushered me towards the back door of the theatre. As I got out there, I just went... [One of the team] said: 'I just saw you going.' She just slid me down [to the floor]."

She continued: "I woke up and, funnily enough, the first thing I saw was a pair of Crocs. I remember it as clear as day when I was out," she said. "I was at school picking my daughter up. When I came around, I was like, 'What am I doing here? I thought I was at school picking my daughter up. Why am I in a hospital? Why am I looking at Crocs? Why am I on the floor?' And then it all kind of came back."

Explaining what happened next, Emma shared: "Because I passed out I had to get full checks so they sent me to A&E. I was so embarrassed. They took my bloods. Then they took me back down then they put me on an ECG to make sure everything was alright." Afterwards, she was accompanied home by a runner in case anything else happened, as Emma admitted: "I was mortified!"
