Corrie's Sally Carman-Duttine gushes over husband Joe in cosy snap

Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has been seen gushing over her real-life husband, who also stars in the long-running show, as she gave insight into their relationship away from the famous cobbles.

The actress made her debut as Abi Webster in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, back in 2017 and has tackled some harrowing storylines, including her former drug use and the death of her eldest son Seb, who was murdered in a shocking hate crime storyline.

But as well as her long-running role in Corrie, Sally also has her role to thank for finding romance away from Weatherfield. While she often keeps her private life just that, she does sometimes share updates on life with fellow soap star Joe Duttine.

Romance on the cobbles

Many fans will already know that the actor plays Tim Metcalfe, making his debut several years before his now-wife in 2013. Joe and Sally met on the Greater Manchester set when she joined several years ago, despite both having previously appeared in the Channel 4 drama Shameless.

They are thought to have started their relationship in the summer of 2018 and moved into a new home together at the end of 2019. They then tied the knot in July 2022 with the pair saying 'I do' two years after getting engaged. Sally confirmed the happy news with an image posted to her Instagram account, which she captioned: "We did."

Cosy home glimpse

Now, Sally has shared a sweet insight into the couple's relationship. She shared a picture from inside the pair's home, showing a cosy scene with a log fire burning, a comfy chair and footrest in front of it, and, on the table beside the chair, a glass of wine and what appeared to be some nibbles.

Captioning the post, Sally wrote: "I love you @johnny_duttine_ [face holding back tears and heart emoji] #whatawelcome #goodhusband #crisps #fire #vino," seemingly suggesting Joe had got the relaxing set-up ready for her return. And her Corrie co-stars were quick to respond.

Co-star reactions

Vicky Myers, who plays DS Lisa Connor-Swain, but is also Sally's off-screen bestie, said: "Nothing less than you deserve!I think you should marry him [winking face emoji]." Maria Windass actress Samia Longchambon commented: "Dreamy [love heart and love heart eyes emojis]."

Sally Dynevor, famed for playing Sally Metcalfe, shared: "Gorgeous and so cozy." Debbie Webster actress Sue Devaney wrote: "Just wonderful! He’s a keeper! Especially if he’s wearing his stylish sauna hat too!" Former Corrie star Katie McGlynn also replied, with the Sinead Tinker actress adding: "What else would a gal need."
