Coronation Street newcomer Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) is set to reveal his truly dark side, leaving girlfriend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) reeling. The so-called property developer, who initially charmed Leanne by ejecting rude customers from Speed Daal, has shown signs of a controlling and violent nature. He previously pinned a random man against a wall over owed money and is responsible for the hospitalisation of Abi Webster's son Alfie due to black mould in a property he leased to the family. Instead of addressing the issue, he had his henchman Brody kidnap the previous landlord.
Idris's Schemes Intensify
Idris has also set his sights on Speed Daal, the restaurant owned by his supposed cousin Alya Nazir (Sair Khan). When Alya resisted handing over her business, Idris revealed a family secret: he is actually her uncle, not her cousin, due to an affair by her grandfather. Leanne has remained largely oblivious to Idris's nasty streak, despite witnessing his controlling behaviour, such as turning off her phone during an intimate moment to avoid a call from Toyah Battersby.
Alya's Decision Sparks Confrontation
In upcoming episodes, Alya decides to sell Speed Daal due to a missed legal deadline, prompting Adam Barlow to point out she must choose between her career and the restaurant. She breaks the news to Idris and Leanne, and Idris assumes he will soon own the business. However, the next day, Alya shows a potential buyer, Gavin, around the restaurant. Idris watches them closely and later approaches Gavin as he heads to his car.
Leanne Faces the Truth
The following day, Nick Tilsley and Toyah warn Leanne that Idris is a thug and that he has put the frighteners on Gavin. Leanne is left to decide whether to believe them, as Idris's true nature becomes increasingly undeniable.
