Clarkson's Farm star Harriet gets 500 proposals a day

Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan has revealed she receives around 500 marriage proposals every day, but has made clear the type of man she would never date.

The 25-year-old, who rose to prominence in series 4 of Jeremy Clarkson's Prime Video programme, is reportedly preparing to invest £1.7 million in a farm alongside her boyfriend, James Booth. The couple are understood to be planning to expand with a 100-acre estate in the countryside.

Harriet on daily proposals

Harriet, who met James at Belper Young Farmers Club in her native Derbyshire, told the Telegraph in August: "I must get about a thousand DMs a day and probably 50% are just men being like, 'I wish I could marry you'."

"But it's all fun and games. The other 50% are young girls seeing me farming and thinking, 'I'd like to do what she does', and they're who I do it for," she added.

Her ideal partner

Harriet expanded on her preferences in an Instagram post on Saturday (October 10), showing herself tackling various Diddly Squat Farm tasks, including helping deliver a baby lamb and operating a combine harvester.

"If he isn't covered in grease and oil and has dirt ingrained into his hands I don't want the life!" she declared.

Reacting to her Instagram footage, one follower gushed: "A new fan here, just discovered you on Clarkson's Farm... You and your like are a great advert for the UK... I wish you luck with all the hard work you do."

A second individual concurred: "I'm with you Harriet." While a third commented: "Hi from Australia. 61 years old Nan here - not only are you gorgeous you are so down to earth and refreshing."

Farm plans and book launch

According to the Daily Mail, Harriet's prospective new residence is believed to be near the family farm where she initially mastered her craft. The property was reportedly listed at £1,765,000 following its former owner's death last year, with the transaction said to be nearing completion.

Last month, Harriet marked the launch of her debut book, Life on the Farm. "This book is so much more than farming," she penned on Instagram upon its publication. "It's about the long days, the early mornings, the animals, the mud, the machinery, the moments that make you laugh until you cry and the ones that simply break your heart."

She continued: "It's about nursing, farming, growing up, finding my feet, the people who have shaped me, and all the chaos that has somehow brought me to where I am today. Writing it meant looking back at parts of my life I hadn't thought about for years, sharing stories I never imagined I'd put on paper, and being more open than I probably ever expected to be."
