Sammy T Dobson and Kirsty Mitchell have reportedly left their roles on Casualty as the medical drama approaches its 40th anniversary. Both actresses have already departed the show, according to The Express, with their characters set to feature in the upcoming anniversary episodes before saying goodbye to the emergency department.
Character exits and storylines
Sammy joined the cast as Nicole Piper in 2024, becoming part of a popular romance storyline with Ngozi Okoye (Adesuwa Oni). Their relationship suffered after Ngozi relapsed into drinking, leading to her admission to rehab and eventual move to Bournemouth.
Kirsty's character Faith Cadogan arrived at Holby in 2019. Her marriage to paramedic Lev Malinovsky (Uriel Emil) ended when Faith discovered Lev was attracted to men. Faith later developed a drug addiction after Lev's death in 2021, but got clean and began a relationship with Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson). She now balances her role as an ACP with being a mother to Natalia, Ana, Luka, and baby Pearl.
Anniversary episodes ahead
A source told The Express: 'Sammy didn't come back after the Christmas break, and Kirsty is more recent, but they are both gone.'
Casualty has been off air for a couple of weeks and returns at the start of September for its 40th anniversary. Two dramatic episodes will centre on a major incident that throws Holby into chaos, with lives hanging in the balance and the ED team pushed to their limits. The storyline involves a major rescue operation, forcing life-or-death decisions and testing the courage of the hospital staff.
Other cast members featuring in the anniversary episodes include Melanie Hill, Barney Walsh, Neet Mohan, Charles Venn, Di Botcher, Anna Chell, Sarah Seggari, Michael Stevenson, Milo Clarke, Naomi Wakszlak, and Aron Julius.
