The Blackpool Airshow 2026 got underway this afternoon (Saturday, 8 August) with a spectacular display of military and civilian aircraft over the iconic seafront. A clear, sunny day provided ideal conditions for plane-spotters to enjoy one of Lancashire's most exciting events.
Opening Performance
The Red Devils, the official parachute display team of the British Army, opened proceedings at 2pm. A team of 15 highly-skilled paratroopers delivered an adrenaline-pumping performance, thrilling the crowds lining the sandy beach.
Highlights of the Show
Following the parachute display, the RAF Typhoon display team took to the skies, followed by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane, and C-47 Dakota. The ground experience was equally rich, with the Blackpool Promenade filled with vendors, exhibits, and food and drink stalls.
