Why Canned Wine is Winning
Once dismissed by traditionalists, canned wine is now embraced for its convenience without compromising on taste. Beyond supermarket in-house lines like M&S and Aldi, independent brands such as Vinca and The Canned Wine Co are forgoing glass bottles altogether. Available at Tesco for £3. Libby notes, “People tend to buy rosé with their eyes – and in cans that's not an option – but Vinca have helpfully established that this one is ‘pale’. This is a crisp, light Sicilian rosé and it's organic, so teamed with the fact it's in a lightweight recyclable can, it's better for the planet in more ways than one.”

Available at Waitrose for £3.50. Libby says, “We all know that chillable reds are on trend right now. A light-bodied red from the fridge is the coolest thing to be drinking – no pun intended. The Canned Wine Co have some great wines, but usually whites and rosé do best from a can. This is a rarity: a red wine from a can that is actually tasty.” Candace adds, “Full of vibrant cherries – magnificent for adding to your gingham basket of baguette and Brie – pour it into a picnic tumbler for all the bistro feels.”

Available at Tesco. Candace says, “So eccentrically British to name their sparkling swan Eleanor and offer up a perfectly graceful spritzy Pinot noir. Deliciously balanced and perfect for picnics.”
