Alison Hammond reveals wrist injury after fall on This Morning

Alison Hammond has revealed she sustained a wrist injury after a fall ahead of Friday's This Morning, just weeks after the presenter was rushed off-air following a panic attack while hosting the ITV show.

On the programme, her co-host Dermot O'Leary asked: "Can we go one week without some sort of crisis? No this isn't an MJ [Michael Jackson] style, Alison styling it out, this is because... what happened?"

Alison appeared to be wearing a bandage on her wrist and explained: "I was doing a little TikTok with my friend and basically there was a rock in the middle of the floor and I didn't see it because I had sunglasses on. It was a decorative rock, I didn't have my glasses on, didn't see the rock.. fell over the rock."

Dermot's reaction to the fall

Dermot mentioned he had watched the clip of Alison's fall and said she took a "proper plant", to which Alison responded: "I mean, I went down. But you know what? I'm fine. I'm a little bit injured, but I've got it all strapped up."

Flaunting her new wrist support, she added: "I think it looks sick!"

Alison's panic attack on air

Alison returned to This Morning the week after she suffered the panic attack on air. As she opened the show with Dermot O'Leary, she appeared to joke about Holly Willoughby's infamous comment: "Are you ok? I hope you are."

She went on to thank Dermot for "holding the fort", continuing: "Thank you to everyone who sent their good wishes. All I can say is, in that moment, it was probably one of the most scariest things that I've ever been through."

"Do you know what I felt like? I felt like I'd been into the other world, [from] Stranger Things, do you know when you've gone into the Upside Down, I felt like I went into the Upside Down world... it was a panic attack."

"I feel guilty that I didn't have a heart condition or anything... but I didn't know, it was the first time I'd ever experienced anything like that."

Alison's recovery and gratitude

"Secondly, it was live on TV, so I thought, oh my gosh, my son might be watching. So I just ran, I ran off TV. I would never do that normally, but I just couldn't catch my breath."

She continued, "It was like a wave, something which I now found out is adrenaline that came into my body. I couldn't catch my breath, and I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack."

"So glad I'm here, I feel so grateful, so thankful to god, to everything in life, I'm so happy that I'm here." Addressing Dermot, she continued: "I'm so happy that I'm here and to see you, you were wonderful. If anything, it's made me look at life so differently."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
