A woman has shared how to make a KFC-style wrap for just £1.40 per serving, claiming it tastes better than the real thing. The recipe, posted on TikTok by Helen (@hintofhelen), offers a budget-friendly alternative to the takeaway chain's burgers, which can cost between £7.49 and £8.29 depending on location, according to Deliveroo.
Ingredients and method
Helen uses two chicken burgers (she prefers the Aldi frozen breast fillet ones), two hash browns, shredded iceberg lettuce, two tablespoons of mayo, two tablespoons of hot sauce, two mini wraps, and four to six cheese slices, depending on how cheesy you want it.
The method involves cooking the chicken burgers (in an air fryer if preferred), adding hash browns about eight minutes in, shredding lettuce, and mixing mayo with hot sauce to taste. Assemble the wraps by layering cheese, sauce, chicken, cheese, hash brown, and more cheese, then fry on a medium heat pan on both sides, using tongs to crisp the bottom edge. Open the wrap and add lettuce.
