A woman has detailed her daughter's backstage encounters with British comedian Stephen Fry, describing him as a "perfect gentleman" and an "all round mensch". The account, posted on Reddit, has drawn praise from fans and others who have met the star.
Fry, who is turning 69, rose to fame in the 1980s through television appearances including Blackadder and A Bit of Fry and Laurie. He is also known for fronting the BBC comedy quiz programme QI for 13 years from its launch in 2003 until he stepped down in 2016, appearing in 180 episodes.
Wardrobe Department Testimony
The woman said her daughter worked in the wardrobe department on several Stephen Fry programmes. She wrote: "My daughter has worked in wardrobe on several shows of Stephen Fry's. She has said that he is a perfect gentleman, a source of great gossip and an all round mensch. Her car broke down at work one evening, he brought her home in his taxi for which I was very grateful as she was young and starting out in the trade."
