Rylan Clark Jokes 'Don't Do That to Me' Over Partner's Stag Do Absence
Rylan Clark Jokes Over Partner's Stag Do Absence

Rylan Clark, the BBC Radio 2 presenter and former X Factor contestant, recently opened up about his relationship with boyfriend Kennedy Bates during a live broadcast on June 13. He discussed how he missed his partner while he was away on a stag do, leading to a lighthearted exchange with traffic reporter Sally Boazman.

Rylan's Candid Chat About Missing His Partner

Earlier this year, Clark celebrated the one-year milestone of his relationship with Bates. During the radio show, Boazman asked about his evening plans. Clark replied, 'Nothing, little bit of dinner, quiet night. My cousin Kimberley's staying at mine at the moment because her house ain't finished. I just love having people round because the boy's not here at the minute. He's on a stag do, so it's like the first time.'

Boazman responded, 'Oh this is a test isn't it?' Clark quickly answered, 'It's not a test, don't do that to me.' She clarified, 'I mean it's a test for your own emotional wellbeing.' Clark then admitted, 'It is. I just miss him. I just miss him, but it's strange because obviously where he is. The time difference is quite vast. So, I'm waking up every morning and he's still on a night out. It's awful but...'

Boazman noted, 'So you're constantly waiting for a text.' Clark joked, 'Oh I am like woman possessed. No. No, I'm all good. He's having a lovely time, and that's what I wanted him to do. I wanted him to go and have a great time.' Boazman added, 'I mean it's quite nice I think to miss somebody because then you kind of realise that you really miss them.'

Clark revealed he planned to collect his boyfriend from the airport at seven o'clock in the morning.

Rylan's Close Friendship with Rob Rinder

Away from his romantic life, Clark shares a close platonic bond with fellow TV presenter Rob Rinder. The duo have twice embarked on globe-trotting travel programmes for the BBC, forging compelling on-screen chemistry. Recently, Rinder, 48, opened up about that dynamic on This Morning while discussing their latest show.

Presenter Cat Deeley said, 'One of my favourite shows is when you and Rylan go off on your travels together. I love the funny bits, I love the sad bits, I love the bits when you're floating down the River Ganges talking about life. It's a dream job!'

Rinder replied, 'It is an exquisitely dream job, to do it with someone who is so intelligent and who I genuinely, in a very benign way, let me be clear, in a platonic way, love. The whole point of it is that we learnt from each other and there's no big hierarchy of art or culture. If you delight in something, you should not only enjoy it yourself, but also bring as many people into it as well.'
