Prince George, Princess Charlotte at Wimbledon with Kate

Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, at the Wimbledon men's singles final on Sunday, July 13, 2026. The family attended the match between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev on Centre Court, with Kate later presenting the trophy to Sinner after his back-to-back victory.

Royal Family Greeted by Wimbledon Semi-Finalist

Before taking their seats in the royal box, the family was introduced to a line-up of guests, including British Wimbledon semi-finalist Arthur Fery. Fery, who celebrated his 24th birthday the previous day, invited George and Charlotte to play tennis with him. William and Kate congratulated Fery on his run to the semi-finals and wished him a happy birthday.

Fery later said: "I mean the princess came to my match in the second round, it was great to have her there and we spoke a little about that. It was good to see her here and good to finally meet her. She wished me good luck for the rest of the year and congratulated me for these two weeks. I know the whole family are all tennis fans, so I told her if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free. It would be good to see them again."

George and Charlotte Beat the Heat

During the intense final, George was seen wearing sunglasses and a hat to shield himself from the sun, and also used a hand-held fan to keep cool. Charlotte was observed chatting animatedly with her mother, who appeared to be explaining rules or tactics of the game while pointing to the court. The family fanned themselves to stay comfortable in the blistering summer heat.

Kate Presents Trophy to Jannik Sinner

As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Kate presented Jannik Sinner with the Wimbledon trophy after he defeated Alexander Zverev. The Princess of Wales told Sinner that it is "really inspiring" for George and Charlotte to watch tennis played at his level. She said: "You’ve had such a fantastic tournament so really, really well done. Hope you get a good break after this." She added: "It’s really inspiring for the children to see tennis at that level."

Sinner Speaks with Young Royals

After his victory, Sinner spoke to the young royals. He asked George if he was still playing tennis, to which the 12-year-old responded: "Yeah, very much so." Prince Louis has yet to make his Wimbledon debut, but George and Charlotte have now attended the tournament with their parents many times.
