Meghan Markle Eyes West End Stage Role in UK Return

Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to swap Hollywood for the West End when she moves to the UK, according to a former friend and entertainment industry sources cited by the Daily Mail. The Duchess of Sussex has "desperately wanted" to appear in a West End production for years and intends to reach out to contacts about a possible role upon her return.

Return to Acting Rumours

Rumours have been circulating that Meghan wants to secure a serious stage role in London, the sources said. Meghan previously starred as lawyer Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits for seven seasons, but has not acted since her last episode aired in 2018, when she joined the Royal Family.

Alongside her stage ambitions, the Duchess is reported to be in early-stage talks to return to acting with a role in the Netflix series The Gentlemen, according to the BBC. The Guy Ritchie comedy, about a duke who becomes a drug baron, was largely filmed in the Cotswolds, where the Sussexes are believed to be eyeing a new property.

UK Return Plans

Australian outlet News.com.au previously reported that Meghan had been offered a role in an unnamed UK-based project, which journalist Bronte Coy said played a "significant" role in the family's return. The reports fuel belief that the Sussexes will not return as working royals, with Meghan also planning to expand her lifestyle and cooking brand, As Ever.

The move comes a month after Prince Harry, Meghan and their children visited the UK in July, during which they saw King Charles III at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire. It was the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years, and the couple's first UK visit together since 2022.
