Craig Revel Horwood emotional over Len Goodman memory on Strictly
Craig emotional over Len Goodman memory on Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed he felt emotional watching Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley's routine, as it reminded him of a former star on the BBC show who died three years ago.

On Saturday night (October 10), the remaining 14 contestants took to the dancefloor to impress the judges for another week. Towards the end of the show, viewers saw the dogfather Graeme Hall and his professional partner perform a high-energy Jive routine.

Craig's heartfelt admission

When it came to feedback from the judges, Craig made a heartfelt admission. He told Graeme: "I felt like I was watching dear Len Goodman with the flatcap. It brought back some memories, I got a bit emosh darling through that. I'm not going to cry, don't worry."

Len was the head judge on the BBC show from when it began in 2004 up until 2014, although he made his final appearance on the programme in 2016. Len died in 2023 at the age of 78 from bone cancer.

Graeme's own emotional moment

As Graeme went upstairs to speak with Johannes Radebe, he too was overcome with emotion as he told the presenter he was 'scared to death' of their routine in the middle of the week. He commented: "I had a bit of a meltdown Wednesday. I didn't think I'd be doing that, but we did it." As he composed himself, he told Johannes that he had a lot of fun doing the dance with Lauren.

Scores and fan reaction

When it was time to get their results from the judges, all of them scored him a six, apart from Anton Du Beke, who gave him a slightly higher score of seven. This gave him a total of 25 for their jive routine.

It wasn't long before people took to X to comment on Craig's comparison between Graeme and Len, with some in agreement. One person said: "It's so funny Craig mentioned about Graeme looking like Len Goodman because I've been saying the exact same thing all evening, then thinking,' Don't be so ridiculous' #strictly #strictlycomedancing."

Someone else wrote: "#Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing I love the fact that Len Goodman's legacy still lives on." While a third shared: "Aw, that did feel very Len Craig is absolutely right, Len would've loved Graeme I feel x."

Another person commented: "I miss Len Goodman too, Craig. #Strictly". As someone else wrote: "Len would be proud of this one, forever proud of Lauren and Graeme." Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6.15pm.
