Big Brother Star Warns of Fake Diet Jab Dangers After Near-Fatal Ordeal

Former Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has issued a stark warning after a near-fatal incident involving counterfeit diet injections. The reality television personality candidly discussed her ordeal, disclosing the serious repercussions she endured.

Aisleyne's Rise to Fame

Aisleyne gained prominence on Big Brother in 2006, alongside Nikki Grahame and series winner Pete Bennett. She has since maintained her public profile, featuring on programmes including Celebrity Coach Trip and Celebrity Botched Bodies.

The Terrifying Experience

The television personality joined Good Morning Britain on Thursday (18 June) with presenters Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley, where she described how frightening her ordeal was, reports the Mirror. Aisleyne explained she discovered the injections on TikTok, and an acquaintance had purchased them through a WhatsApp group, spending approximately £100 for a month's injection.

"It was pre-mixed, it came in a syringe in a box with no instructions, and I foolishly took it," she stated. Aisleyne administered it into her abdomen, acknowledging that while she had concerns, she proceeded because she was "in a really dark place."

She continued: "That's what I'm concerned about with other people. If you're vulnerable, which I was at the time, I'd gone through a lot of grief in a short space of time. I wanted a quick fix, something to help me physically and mentally feel better and I thought that was it."

Call for Government Action

Aisleyne called upon the government to "do more" to tackle counterfeit injections, before detailing her symptoms. She said: "It was awful, I was in bed for three to four days, I want to say, comatose, in and out of consciousness. Bags of sick to be quite frank all by bed, I couldn't even crawl to the toilet. It was a dark, scary place."

Aisleyne said she didn't call 999, going on to say she "felt a bit sick" after the first injection but "carried on", but the symptoms "really hit" after the second injection straight away.

TikTok's Response

Sharing a statement from TikTok, Ranvir said on the programme: "TikTok says it is clear it does not allow trading, marketing or providing access to regulated, prohibited or high-risk goods and services. This includes regulated substances such as products marketed for weight."

Aisleyne's Warning

Aisleyne warned: "Do you really want to put yourself through all of that? You could die. Go to the gym." This comes after a nightmare cosmetic surgery Aisleyne faced in 2016 during her appearance on Celebrity Botched Bodies, where she was left in agony after trying to get veneers. "The pain was excruciating. He tortured me. I felt like I was just a guinea pig for him," she previously said, as per The Mirror. "I looked at my face, I didn't recognise who I was."

After undergoing treatment on the programme, she said: "I'd say my life has improved since the treatment because my confidence is back. I'm happy to smile, I don't feel so self conscious. I don't cover my mouth when I'm laughing anymore."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
