Julia Haworth, best known for playing Claire Peacock on Coronation Street, left the ITV soap 15 years ago this week. She debuted in 2003 as nanny to Ashley Peacock's son Joshua, later marrying into the family. Her storyline included a postnatal depression battle and the tragic death of her on-screen husband Ashley in the 2010 tram crash. Claire departed Weatherfield for France in January 2011.
Since leaving the cobbles, Haworth has continued acting, appearing in BBC's Doctors as Laura Wade (2018-2019), ITV's The Bay (second series), and alongside Liz Hurley in The Royals. She also played Doris Owen in Call the Midwife (2021) and Pamela Parks in A Kind Of Spark.
Off-screen, Haworth married accountant Jon Wormald in 2006 after meeting in 2003. The couple have two daughters, born in 2008 and 2013. In 2018, she pursued a teaching qualification at Bolton College, teaching performing arts students. She stated: 'The knowledge and skills I am teaching are 100 per cent up to date, accurate and relevant.'
