Hollyoaks confirms Lucas Hay's return as he targets Xander

Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) is set to return to Hollyoaks next week, and he arrives with a clear mission. After being jailed earlier this year for taking his dad Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) hostage, Lucas is back in the village with a specific goal in mind.

His return is directly linked to newcomer Xander, as Lucas grows determined to stop his new mate from finding out what really happened with dad Martin. The reasons behind this remain unclear, but the storyline is set to unfold over the coming episodes.

Emotional reunion with Leah

Later in the week, Lucas shares an emotional reunion with his sister Leah (Charlotte Alex Riley). However, tensions soon rise as Leah has questions she wants answered and confronts her sibling. Whether she will get to the bottom of what's bothering her remains to be seen.

These scenes mark the first shared between Oscar and Charlotte, who took over the role of Leah earlier this year from Ela-May Demircan. Discussing the dynamic between the two characters, Oscar told Metro: 'I think it's nice because it's reigniting the chemistry between the siblings. That's important because they're brother and sister, they're in the same age range.'

Exploring the sibling bond

'In the village, they're quite pivotal characters so it's nice to explore that bond. Previously they did have scenes together but now we've got a lot of scenes. So that's good!'

Lucas certainly has some explaining to do as the storyline develops. Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
