Barron Trump, the youngest son of former US President Donald Trump, has begun his university studies at New York University's Stern School of Business, ending months of speculation about his college choice. The 18-year-old was photographed leaving Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, dressed in a white polo shirt and black slacks, accompanied by a security detail, before heading to campus.

A source told The New York Post that Barron visited the dean's office before attending his first class. Donald Trump confirmed to The Daily Mail that his son would be attending the highly ranked Stern School of Business, saying, 'He's a very smart guy, and he'll be going to Stern, the business school, which is a great school at N.Y.U.'

The former president described his son as a 'very high aptitude child' who has 'just passed into something beyond child-dom.' Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May and is expected to live off campus at Trump Tower, commuting to classes.

Barron's presence on campus presents unique security challenges for the Secret Service. Former agent Paul Eckloff told The Independent that agents aim to 'impair the college experience as little as possible while providing the strongest security environment that you can.' He noted that social media poses a particular risk, as posts revealing Barron's location could endanger him.

Donald Trump had previously hinted in August that his son would attend a New York college, ruling out other elite institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown, which other family members attended. Separately, Donald Trump's granddaughter Kai Trump recently announced she would play golf for the University of Miami.
