A security guard at the complex called emergency services, stating that several individuals were suffering from eye irritation and coughing. Investigators confirmed that multiple people complained of discomfort in their eyes and throats, with reports of someone coughing in the arcade area on the fourth floor.

Casualties and Hospitalisations

At least 16 people reported feeling unwell, according to the fire department. Some required hospital treatment. Authorities later confirmed that six individuals, including both customers and staff, were taken to hospital, as reported by news outlet NHK.

Police and firefighters are investigating the situation to determine the cause and assess potential hazards. The fire department has cordoned off part of the fourth floor and is managing the response. So far, no toxic gases or smoke have been detected.
