Harry Kane's Go-To Breakfast Meal He Makes for His Kids Too

Harry Kane has a dish he likes to eat for breakfast so much that he also makes it for his kids. The England and Bayern Munich star is in the headlines today as reports say Saudi club Al-Hilal are looking to snap him up before the transfer window closes, with England colleague Ollie Watkins also a target.

What Harry Kane Eats for Breakfast

In an interview with the official England Football website, Kane explained what he has for breakfast and what he makes for his children. Asked in the 2023 interview what sort of foods he eats for breakfast, and what he eats ahead of training or matches, the former Spurs striker said: “For breakfast, I vary it. I might have a slice of brown bread, avocado, and a two or three egg omelette with some spinach. Sometimes I have coconut yoghurt with berries, homemade granola and a bit of honey.”

He admits he likes to mix it up. He said: “It depends, especially when you're preparing for a game. The day before the game, I tend to consume more carbs than I would throughout the week.”

Making Breakfast for His Kids

He then added a revealing comment about what he makes for his children in the morning. He added: “I’ll also be up with the kids before school cooking breakfast, whether that is scrambled egg, omelette or a simple yoghurt with fruit.”

The Kanes have four children. Ivy was born in January 2017. Vivienne followed in August 2018. Louis was born in December 2020. Henry was born on August 20, 2023, meaning his birthday is tomorrow, Thursday. According to the Times, the family live in Grünwald, a well-off suburb south of Munich and the children attend an international school. “We’ve met a few of the parents at school and made friends with teammates’ wives and kids,” Kane said in an interview. “Slowly but surely it starts to feel like home.”

Tracking His Food Scores

In an Instagram post from earlier this year, he revealed a series of snapshots of what he eats. He said at the time: "Get asked quite often what my diet looks like during the season so thought I’d share some of the food I eat! Really important I fuel my body with the right foods so I’m feeling fresh for matchday." Each dish was scored out of 100. Explaining why, he said: "Pleased to have teamed up with @foodhealthscore so I’m able to track my food scores."

The first image was of a fruit bowl with a score of 98. This was followed by fried egg (61), wholegrain toast (51) and avocado (85). The next image showed steak (59), sweet potato (100) and lettuce (100). This was followed by prawns and lemon (51), and finally an oak milk flat white (55).

Kane works with chef and nutritionist Dan Sargeant, who focuses on performance and health. They have been working together for more than a decade. Kane said in the same interview: “He prepares the food, which we then cook. He’s been great and in football, it's the little details that can help you become the best you can be. Food is definitely one of those.” Sargeant also works with other stars, including Formula 1 champion Lando Norris and former Man City winger Jack Grealish.
