A royal commentator has made explosive claims about Prince William's feelings towards his brother Prince Harry, stating that William "f***ing hates" him. Speaking on the Daily Expresso podcast, TalkTV host Mark Dolan, who runs a royal show, said multiple sources told him about the depth of the broken relationship after years of public airing of grievances.
Spare and the Deepening Rift
Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, detailed a deep rift with his brother, including allegations of physical fights, being excluded, and rudeness towards his wife Meghan Markle. Mark Dolan claimed: "Those two are over and that William, I mean multiple quotes, 'f-ing hates his brother,' despises his brother, 'no longer brothers' might be the strongest that I've been told, all from different people."
Security Concerns and Legal Battles
Despite the alleged hatred, Dolan said he does not believe William would prevent Harry from having access to security. "So, not withstanding that, I cannot imagine a world in which William tells RAVEC, the security authorities, do not protect that guy. I just can't see it," he said.
Harry has been in a lengthy legal battle to reinstate his high-level security protections, which were stripped after he left the UK and renounced his royal duties in 2020. He lost both the original legal battle and a subsequent appeal. RAVEC, the body behind taxpayer-funded protection, determined that his security in the UK will be decided on a case-by-case basis rather than guaranteed police protection.
Impact on Family Visits
After his legal loss in May last year, Prince Harry told the BBC in an emotional interview that he could not see a world in which he could bring his family to the UK without that protection. This concern became reality this week, with Harry travelling alone to promote the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. He had originally planned to travel with Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet, but at the weekend it was confirmed they would no longer join due to security fears.
It was originally speculated that this trip would allow the Duke and his father, King Charles, to begin a reconciliation and build a relationship with his grandchildren. However, the ongoing security issues and the reported rift with William cast doubt on any near-term family reunification.
