Tykia Sherman, 32, is accused of using a professional wrestling move on her girlfriend after the victim declined sexual advances, according to police in St. Petersburg, Florida. The incident occurred at their shared home, where Sherman allegedly shoved the 31-year-old victim against a wall, struck her multiple times, and then performed a choke slam—a move popularized by WWE legend The Undertaker—onto a couch.
Attack Details
An arrest report states that after the victim said she “didn’t want to get sexual,” Sherman became upset and attacked her. The victim reported that Sherman choked her, restricting her breathing, and slammed her onto the couch. The victim managed to escape, but Sherman then retrieved a pair of gray scissors and chased her out of the house. The victim sought help from a neighbor, and an independent witness confirmed seeing Sherman chase the victim, who fell to the ground.
Legal Proceedings
Sherman was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery by strangulation and is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond. An arrest affidavit has been made public, detailing the couple’s two-month relationship as “committed sexual.” The affidavit notes that the victim’s breathing was restricted during the choke slam.
Prior Convictions
Court documents reveal that Sherman has two prior convictions for assaulting former girlfriends. In one case, she reportedly texted a previous partner, “Hoe you walk through this door Ima kill you,” and threatened to “put the victim in the dirt.” Sherman, who stands 5’2” and weighs 220 pounds, also has a tattoo of an AK-47 assault rifle.
