Acting as the administrator of Amy's estate, Mitch Winehouse initiated legal proceedings against stylist Naomi Parry and friend Catriona Gourlay, alleging they profited from selling dozens of personal items at auctions in the United States during 2021 and 2023.

During a trial held in December, lawyers representing Mr Winehouse argued that Ms Parry and Ms Gourlay had deliberately concealed their involvement in the sales of these items. They contended that the legal action was his only means of obtaining answers about the transactions and the provenance of the goods. Deputy High Court judge Sarah Clarke KC delivered the judgment on Monday, stating, I find that neither Ms Parry nor Ms Gourlay deliberately concealed any of their disputed items from the claimant and even if I am wrong about that, Mr Winehouse could have discovered what disputed items the defendants had with reasonable diligence. This ruling effectively dismissed the claims of concealment and highlighted potential oversights in the estate's investigation efforts.
