Derbyshire police arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon after a pupil was stabbed at Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy in Derby. The incident occurred just before 2:40 PM on Tuesday, July 14, at the school on Duffield Road in Darley Abbey.
Details of the Incident
Police responded to reports of an assault involving a knife between two pupils. One student sustained a minor injury to his leg, which did not require hospital treatment, according to a Derbyshire police spokesperson. The arrested teenager has been released on bail while investigations continue.
There was no lockdown at the school, as the situation was confined to one part of the campus and was swiftly dealt with by staff in accordance with school policies and procedures.
