Dad-of-three dies after Woolwich road rage shooting

A father of three who was shot while trying to break up a road rage row in southeast London has died, prompting a murder investigation.

Terry Dearsley, 32, was found in a parked car close to the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich shortly after 8pm on October 22. Armed police and specialist detectives were called to the scene after reports of shots being fired nearby.

Mr Dearsley was taken to hospital, where he remained in a critical condition. The Met Police has confirmed he died from his injuries on Wednesday, November 4. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Arrest and Charges

Paul Rosser-Davies, 48, was arrested a week after the shooting and charged last Sunday with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he was remanded for a later court date at the Old Bailey.

A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of shots being fired in Frances Street, Woolwich at 8.09pm on Thursday, October 22.”

“Shortly after arriving on scene, officers found a 32-year-old man in a parked car with a gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.”

Investigation Continues

The Met added: “The man, who can now be named as Terry Dearsley, sadly died on Wednesday, November 4. His family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”

The case is now being treated as a murder investigation, with the suspect due to appear at the Old Bailey at a later date.
