Kentucky couple Tricia Croley, 51, and Damon Bennett, 48, were arrested on June 18 after police reportedly discovered a bag labeled “deffntely not a bag full full of drugs” containing suspected narcotics. Deputies from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office spotted the couple’s vehicle parked in an “Employees Only” area behind a business in London, Kentucky, with people inside.
False Identification and Drug Discovery
When deputies approached and questioned the occupants, Croley allegedly presented a fake form of identification belonging to another woman. According to investigators, she also handed over bags containing suspected contraband and pills. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a black bag with the misspelled label, which allegedly contained a crystal-like substance, a green leafy material, and drug paraphernalia.
Charges Filed
Croley was charged with giving an officer false identification, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional allegations, as reported by ClayCoNews citing the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and jail records, include first-degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and having prescription medication in a container that was not the original.
Bennett was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant and later released after posting bond. Croley was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center, according to WKRC Local 12.
Similar Incident in Florida
Last year, a woman in Florida was arrested with a bag similarly labeled “Definitely not a bag full of drugs.” Teryn Acri was charged with possession of meth with intent to sell or deliver and a misdemeanor paraphernalia count after a traffic stop. At the time, Acri was free on a $12,700 bond for a prior meth possession arrest.
