British Mother Found Stabbed to Death in Spanish Home as Children Witness Attack
A British mother-of-three has been tragically found stabbed to death at her home in Spain, with her young children reportedly witnessing the horrific incident. Victoria Hart, aged 33 and originally from the West Midlands, was discovered in a pool of blood on her kitchen floor in Alhaurín el Grande, near Malaga.
Children Raise Alarm After Witnessing Mother's Attack
According to Spanish press reports, the terrible scene unfolded on Saturday morning around 11.40am. Victoria's three children - an 11-year-old boy and 7-year-old twin girls - were present during the attack. Her son reportedly rushed from the property shouting for help, alerting neighbours to the emergency.
A local resident is believed to have entered the home and discovered the devastating scene: Victoria lying on the ground surrounded by blood, with a kitchen knife found next to her body. Emergency services rushed to the address but sadly pronounced the mother dead at the scene.
Ex-Partner Arrested as Suspected Killer
Spanish police moved quickly following the discovery, arresting a suspect shortly after Victoria was found. The Civil Guard in Malaga confirmed yesterday that they are investigating the woman's death and have arrested her ex-partner as the alleged killer.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard stated: "The Civil Guard is investigating the death of a woman in Alhaurin el Grande. Her ex-partner has been arrested as the alleged killer."
Autopsy and Court Proceedings Scheduled
An autopsy examination is expected to take place on Sunday to determine the exact circumstances of Victoria's death. The suspect is due to appear in court on Monday as legal proceedings begin.
Victoria, who had moved from the West Midlands to Spain, leaves behind three young children who have been traumatised by witnessing their mother's violent death. The community in Alhaurín el Grande has been shocked by the brutal attack in what is normally a peaceful residential area.
This tragic incident highlights the devastating impact of domestic violence that can cross international borders, affecting British expatriates living abroad. Support services for both the children and the British community in Spain are likely to be mobilised following this heartbreaking event.
